Halloween...no longer under the radar in the UK
Not so long ago, Halloween barely made a ripple in the Britain's pool of holiday celebrations. Seen mainly as an American commercial event, Halloween decorations, costumes, and parties were rare. Not so anymore...creeping commercialism has propelled Halloween into High Street shops in Britain. Even staid Fortnum and Mason department store on London's ritzy Picadilly Street has a (small) selection of costly Halloween goodies...like the £60 ($95) Casket of Chocolate shown at left.

British Airways heading for labor showdown
British Airways--reeling under continued operating losses--has imposed job cuts and other reductions. Although BA has labor agreements with some of its unions, cabin crew members are not on board and their union plans to call for a strike vote.
If a strike is authorized, it will be several months before any action begins. The current timeline looks like the December holiday season. A strike is not necessarily going to happen, especially if talks get underway. Stay tuned.
